Leland M. Stenehjem, Jr., was born in Watford City, North Dakota where he spent the formative years of his life, and has gone by the nickname Lee. He has BSBA and JD degrees from the University of North Dakota and an LL.M degree from The George Washington University Law School.
He was a U.S. Army Captain and served as a White House Military Social Aide. Leland practiced law and was President/Chairman of banks. He held governor appointed positions as Commissioner of Banking and Director of the Office of Management and Budget for North Dakota. He was President and Chairman of the Independent Community Banks of America.
Leland and his wife Sue have two children and three grandchildren.
Leland M. Stenehjem, Jr., grew up in North Dakota, became an Eagle Scout, then went on to serve in the United States Army. He worked in the White House and became a leader in the banking industry. Now Lee is the conservative author of the new book “The Great The Late (Almost) United States of America!”
